Connect your own domain: DNS records and SSL

Save the hostname, add the records, press Check DNS, then activate SSL and check the padlock on a real phone.

Launch basics

Your own domain is the cheapest trust you can buy. A shopper who sees shop.mystore.com with a padlock next to it hesitates less than one who sees a long platform link, and the address is easier to say out loud on the phone.

The good news: you do not move your domain anywhere. Storix needs no domain transfer and no nameserver change. You add two or three records where your DNS is managed, Storix checks them, issues the certificate, and your store answers on the new address.

Before you start

  • Your plan includes a custom domain — every current Storix plan does: Starter, Growth, Pro and pay-as-you-go.
  • You own the domain and can edit its DNS records at your provider.
  • Your store is active. A paused store cannot go live on a new address.
  • You have the full hostname ready, such as www.mystore.com. An IP address or a Storix address is refused, and one domain belongs to one store only.

None of this has to happen before you sell. Every store already opens on a free address on storix-ai.store, so you can launch today and connect the domain later without redoing any work.

Step 1 — Save your hostname

Open Design → Profile and the Custom domain tab. It is a three-step wizard, and the top reads Step X of 3.

Type the address in Hostname and press Save and show DNS records. Changing the hostname later starts verification again with new records, so decide once.

Step 2 — Add the DNS records

Storix first detects who runs your DNS.

  • If your provider supports Domain Connect, you get Auto Connect. Press Connect Automatically, sign in to the provider in the pop-up and approve the records. If the pop-up is blocked, use the link underneath it.
  • Otherwise open Manual DNS records and copy each one exactly, using the copy buttons: a TXT record named _storix-verify. plus your hostname, with a value starting storix-verify=; for a subdomain such as www.mystore.com, a CNAME pointing to the target shown; for a root domain such as mystore.com, the A records, plus the AAAA records when they are shown.

Then press Check DNS. Each record reads Not checked yet, Verified or Not yet detected. There is a short wait between checks, shown as Available in …s, so do not hammer the button. DNS changes need time to spread.

Step 3 — Activate SSL

Once the TXT record and the target record are both Verified, the wizard moves you to the last step. Press Activate and issue SSL. Storix issues a Let's Encrypt certificate for you — nothing to buy, nothing to install.

Storix then checks that the address really opens your store. If something fails, press Retry SSL activation or Retry storefront check. When it finishes, the tab shows Domain live with a View storefront button, and Storix sends you a notification.

The one thing Storix will not do for you

The tab takes a single hostname, and the admin has no redirect setting. So if you want mystore.com to land on www.mystore.com, or you own both .com and .com.eg, set that redirect at your DNS provider or registrar. Choose one address as the real one, advertise only that one, and point everything else at it.

If a record still says "Not yet detected"

  • Compare the record at your provider with the value in Storix character by character. A missing _ or an extra dot is the usual cause.
  • Make sure you edited the zone that is actually serving the domain.
  • Wait out the countdown, then press Check DNS again.
  • To change the address, press Back to return to step 1.

To drop a live domain later, open DNS & API details and press Remove custom domain. Your store then answers on the Storix address again.

Checks before you announce the new address

  • The tab shows Domain live.
  • The padlock appears on a real phone, not only on your laptop.
  • A test order goes all the way through on the new address.
  • Your ads, bio links and WhatsApp replies all use that same address.
