Storix terms of service for merchants and stores
Last updated: upon first publication by the platform operator.
1. Agreement
By using Storix — our websites, merchant admin, APIs, mobile apps, or any related service (together, the "Service") — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy and Cookie policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
These Terms are written and interpreted in English and Arabic. If there's any conflict between the two versions, the Arabic text prevails for users resident in Egypt, per Egyptian law.
2. What Storix does
Storix is a software-as-a-service platform you can use to create and run online stores: accept orders, manage products, customers, inventory and shipping, process payments through licensed providers, and plug in integrations enabled on the platform. Features depend on your plan, country, and configuration. We improve the Service continuously; things change, features come and go, and that's normal for a SaaS product.
3. Who can use Storix
You need the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement under Egyptian law (that usually means you're 21 or acting for a registered company). You're responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for protecting your login credentials. Everything that happens under your account is treated as done by you, so please tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised use. Sharing a single account between multiple people isn't allowed — invite team members through the proper merchant-user flow instead.
4. Your store, your responsibility
If you run a store on Storix, you are responsible for:
- The products you list, their prices, descriptions, and pictures.
- Complying with Egyptian law for what you sell — including Consumer Protection Law 181 of 2018, tax and VAT rules, sector-specific rules (e.g. food safety, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, telecom), and any licences your business needs.
- The shipping, return, and refund terms you publish on your own storefront.
- Handling customer complaints promptly and honestly. The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) expects merchants — not platforms — to resolve disputes with their customers.
- Collecting and remitting VAT (14% under Law 67 of 2016) or any other applicable tax on the sales you make through your store.
Storix doesn't pre-approve every listing and isn't a party to the contract of sale between you and your customer. We do, however, reserve the right to remove clearly illegal content, enforce our acceptable use rules, and cooperate with Egyptian authorities when they legally require it.
5. Fees, invoices, and taxes
- Fees depend on your subscription plan or a separate commercial agreement. Our plans, prices, and billing cycles are shown on the pricing page and on your invoice.
- Prices on our own website are shown in Egyptian pounds (EGP), exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT is added where applicable.
- Invoices are issued electronically through our integration with the Egyptian Tax Authority's e-invoicing system.
- If payment fails or an invoice goes unpaid, we may restrict or suspend access until it's resolved. We'll try to warn you in advance.
- Third-party payment providers may charge their own fees and may apply their own terms to you in addition to ours.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Storix to:
- Break Egyptian law, Anti-Cybercrime Law 175 of 2018, or any other law that applies to you.
- Sell things you aren't legally allowed to sell (counterfeit goods, unlicensed medicines, restricted weapons, unapproved financial services, adult content where prohibited, and similar).
- Host malware, run phishing, attack other services, or deliberately overload our infrastructure.
- Scrape or abuse the platform in a way that degrades it for other merchants.
- Harass, threaten, or deceive customers or our staff.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules or put the platform at risk. For serious violations we may act without notice; for lesser ones we'll usually give you a chance to fix the issue first.
7. Intellectual property
- Everything we build — Storix software, the admin UI, our branding, our documentation, our APIs — stays ours. Your subscription gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during the term of your subscription and only for your own business.
- You keep ownership of your content: your products, images, copy, customer data, and anything else you upload. By using Storix you grant us the right to host, process, transmit, display, and back up your content as needed to run the Service for you.
- If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we can use them to improve the Service without owing you anything in return.
8. Electronic agreements
Under Egyptian E-Signature Law 15 of 2004 and the Anti-Cybercrime Law, actions you take through your logged-in account — clicking "agree", placing an order, publishing a policy — are legally binding electronic signatures equivalent to a handwritten one.
9. Third-party services
Storix integrates with payment providers, shipping carriers, analytics, email and SMS services, and more. Those services are run by other companies and governed by their own terms. We pick them carefully but we can't guarantee they'll never have problems, and we're not responsible for their outages or errors beyond what Egyptian law requires.
10. Uptime, changes, and discontinuation
We aim for reliable service but we can't promise zero downtime. We perform maintenance, deploy updates, and sometimes discover bugs — occasional interruptions happen. We may add, change, or remove features; when a change materially affects you we'll try to give reasonable notice. Nothing in these Terms guarantees that a specific feature will exist forever.
11. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent Egyptian law allows. We don't warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly suitable for every purpose. Mandatory consumer-protection warranties — to the extent they apply — are not excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Egyptian law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud).
Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by Egyptian law:
- We won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Storix for the Service in the three (3) months before the claim arose, or (b) five thousand Egyptian pounds (EGP 5,000).
13. Indemnity
To the extent Egyptian law permits, you agree to defend and indemnify Storix, its affiliates, directors, and employees against any claim, damage, fine, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises out of your content, your store operations, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law.
14. Term and termination
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page, subject to your plan terms. No refunds for partial periods unless Egyptian law or a specific plan says otherwise.
- Merchants can schedule cancellation of a paid platform subscription at the end of the current billing period. Storix may perform immediate operator cancellation for fraud, abuse, legal, payment, or platform-safety reasons.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms, put the platform at risk, or fail to pay. For repeated violations or serious misconduct we may terminate immediately.
- When an account ends, we'll retain data only as described in the Privacy policy and for as long as Egyptian tax and commercial law require.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Before going to court, please try to resolve disputes with us directly — most issues are fixed faster through our support team. If that doesn't work, the Economic Courts of Cairo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have under Consumer Protection Law 181 of 2018 to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is significant — for example, a material change to fees, liability, or how the Service works — we'll give you reasonable notice (email or a visible in-app banner). Continued use after the new effective date means you accept the update, to the extent Egyptian law allows. If you don't accept, you can cancel your subscription.
17. Contact
