1. Why we have a cookie policy

This policy explains how Storix uses cookies and similar technologies, what tracking choices you have over each category, and how you can change or withdraw those choices from your browser or from your account settings at any time.

Cookies — and similar technologies like local storage — are small bits of data your browser keeps for a website. Some of them are essential (you couldn't stay logged in without them). Others are optional (they help us understand how the product is used, or measure a marketing campaign).

Under Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law (Law 151 of 2020) any cookie that can identify you or track your behaviour counts as personal data. That means for anything beyond the strictly necessary, we ask for your consent — and you can change your mind whenever you want.

2. The four categories we use

We group cookies into four categories. You control each category separately from the cookie banner and from your account settings.

3. Cookies and storage keys we set

The exact list can change as we add features or swap providers. We publish the current list here. If you want the version effective on a specific date, the Data Protection Officer (contact at the bottom of the site) can provide it.

• storix.session — strictly necessary — signs you in, protects the session.
• storix.csrf — strictly necessary — prevents cross-site request forgery.
• storix.locale — functional — remembers whether you chose Arabic or English.
• storix.theme — functional — remembers light/dark theme.
• storix.cart — functional — keeps your cart across visits on a storefront.
• storix.consent — strictly necessary — records the consent choices you made in the cookie banner (so we don't ask again every page).
• Third-party cookies set by embedded payment providers (Paymob, Fawry), Cloudflare Turnstile, and opt-in analytics are listed here once each integration is live on your store.

4. How consent works

When you first visit the site we show a cookie banner with three simple choices:

• Accept all — turn on functional, analytics, and marketing.
• Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary stay on.
• Customise — pick each category individually.

Your choice is stored in storix.consent and we respect it across the whole platform. You can change or withdraw consent at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer or from your account settings. Withdrawing consent won't affect anything you did before — it only stops future processing in that category.

5. Cookies set by other people

Some cookies on a store's pages come from third parties we integrate with (payment processors, carriers, chat widgets, analytics providers). We only load the ones allowed by your consent choices. Those companies have their own privacy notices — we recommend reading them if you want the full picture.

6. Retention

• Session cookies disappear when you close the browser.
• Persistent cookies (like storix.locale or storix.consent) stay on your device for up to 12 months unless you delete them first.
• Third-party cookies follow the provider's own retention; we pick partners that use reasonable durations.

You can always clear all cookies from your browser settings. Doing that will sign you out and reset your preferences.

7. Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Browsers that send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal are treated as withdrawing consent for analytics and marketing categories. Strictly necessary cookies still run because the site can't function otherwise.

8. Your rights under Egyptian PDPL

In addition to the consent controls described above, you have the right to:

• Access the cookie-derived data we hold about you.
• Correct or delete that data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Complain to the Egyptian Data Protection Center (under the NTRA) if you think we handled cookies wrongly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we add a new category, a new third-party provider, or a new tracking mechanism, we'll update this page and — for significant changes — re-ask for consent through the banner. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
