Affiliate marketing setup for an Egyptian store

Paying a cut of a sale only after the sale happens is the safest marketing spend there is. Nothing is burned before you know the result.

Storix has an affiliate programme built in: you give a person a code, they share it, and you pay only when a real order is paid and completed. Here is the setup, screen by screen.

What Storix pays commission on

Not clicks, and not carts. The rule is stricter, and it is in your favour.

• Commission is created only when an order that used the code becomes paid and completed, with the code still active and approved.
• The percentage is taken from the order's products, after the order discount. Shipping, fees and tax are not counted.
• If the buyer is the affiliate — same account or same email — the commission is saved as Void, and you pay nothing.
• If the order is refunded or cancelled, Storix reverses the commission. A partial refund lowers it in proportion.

So you never pay a cut on a parcel that came back. With cash on delivery, that matters a lot.

First, one discount code per affiliate

This is the step that stops most people. Every affiliate needs a manual discount code, created first in Discount codes. Automatic discounts never show up in the affiliate screens.

Set your defaults once

Open Affiliates → Settings. Every new affiliate inherits this.

• Default discount code — manual codes only.
• Default commission type — Percentage or Fixed amount.
• Default commission value — 0 to 100 for a percentage, EGP for a fixed amount.
• Default usage limit — blank, or 0, means Unlimited.
• Attribution window (days) — 1 to 365.
• Attribution model — Last click or First click.
• Require manual approval for affiliate applications — keep it on at the start.

Then press Save settings.

Add your first affiliate

Open Affiliates → All members and click Add affiliate. Under Type, pick Existing customer, or New customer with an email and a password. Choose a Discount code — the field is required — leave Active ticked, and click Create. Storix gives them a referral code starting with AFF_; change it under Edit, and use Copy link for their referral link.

See who is actually selling

Open the affiliate analytics for conversion rates and orders per partner, and verify traffic before approving commission payouts. The members table shows Visitors, Orders (paid) and Sales per code, next to Commission. It also has a Tier column, but affiliate tiers are coming soon and are not set up yet in the pilot. Read the table monthly. Many visitors and no orders means a conversation, not a renewal — and three good partners beat thirty names.

Paying, and protecting yourself

Open Affiliates → Earnings & payouts. Every commission is Pending, Due, Paid or Void.

• Due is ready to pay. Pending is waiting on a fraud check.
• Record payout does not send money. You pay outside Storix — bank transfer, InstaPay or cash — then record it here.
• A payout covers Due commissions only, oldest first. Clawbacks from refunded orders come off your next one.
• Whatever the fraud check flags stays Pending for review instead of turning into a payable commission.

When it pays off in Egypt

Small Instagram and TikTok accounts usually beat big names for a local shop. A skincare account will not shift electronics, so pick partners whose audience matches what you sell. Set the rate so your margin survives product cost, shipping and COD returns, and write the rate, the payout day and the rules down before the first post.

One trap worth knowing

If the Affiliates page shows a loading box that never finishes, it is a role problem. The built-in Commerce manager role cannot read your subscription, so the page cannot check your plan. Open it as the owner, or with a role that has View subscription.
