Connect your store's WhatsApp number with a QR code
Link your store's WhatsApp number to Storix with a QR code: what customers receive from it, the daily limit, the test message and how to disconnect.
Operations
You can connect your store's WhatsApp number to Storix with a QR code, the same way you link WhatsApp Web on a computer. Once it is linked, the order messages Storix sends to your customers go out from your own number instead of the Storix WhatsApp number, so customers see a name and number they already know.
The QR way is free and quick: you scan one code with your phone and the link is ready in seconds. WhatsApp on your phone keeps working normally, and Storix asks WhatsApp for no chat history and never reads your chats. This guide covers the steps, what gets sent from your number, the daily limit and what to do when the link stops. The QR way is rolling out to stores gradually, so if you do not see it in your store settings yet, it is not enabled for your store.
Before you start
- You need the Store settings permission (
store.settings). The store owner always has it. - Keep WhatsApp installed and working on the phone that holds the number.
- Have that phone with you, because you will scan the code with it.
Connect your number in four steps
- Go to Store → Profile and open the WhatsApp Connect tab (
/admin/store?tab=whatsapp). If the card offers more than one way, choose the QR way. - Read the short note about the small risk to your number and press Got it, continue. Pressing it records your consent.
- A QR code appears. On your phone, open WhatsApp, go to Linked devices, tap Link a device and scan the code. The code refreshes by itself (each one lives about a minute), so just stay on the page.
- As soon as the scan works, the page moves on by itself and shows All set 🎉 Your number is linked. After that you see the connected card.
In the Linked devices list on your phone you will now find a device named "Storix".
What your customers receive from your number
Only customer messages that Storix already sends on WhatsApp go out from your number, and today that is the cash on delivery (COD) confirmation request. The customer gets the order details with "Reply 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel", and the short reply after they answer 1, 2 or a stop word also comes from your number. Messages to you and your staff, and login codes, never go out from your number.
For the COD confirmation to go out on WhatsApp, your order confirmation channel must be set to WhatsApp (or both), your plan must include WhatsApp COD confirmation, and the customer must not have opted out. See the COD confirmation guide for the details.
From incoming messages, Storix keeps only a customer's 1 or 2 answer to a confirmation and stop or start words. Everything else customers write to you is ignored and never stored.
The daily limit and the sending pace
We send order messages at a calm pace, with a daily limit, so your number stays safe. The limit warms up: up to 20 messages on day 1, 40 on day 2, 80 on day 3, then up to 150 a day from day 4. Every message sent from your linked number counts, the test message included. The counter resets at midnight Cairo time.
Sending is also paced: at most 6 messages a minute, 4 to 12 seconds between messages, and a short typing indicator before each one. When the limit is reached, the rest of that day's customer messages go out from the Storix WhatsApp number, so no order message is dropped. The card shows how many messages went out today against the day's limit.
Check the link with a test message
On the connected card, press Send a test message. Storix sends one short text from your linked number to the same number, so you will find it in your own "message yourself" chat on WhatsApp. It never goes to a customer, and it counts toward the daily limit. If it fails, the card tells you why: the number is not connected (scan again), the daily limit is reached, or the service is busy (try again in a minute).
When the link stops
The link stops if you remove "Storix" from Linked devices on your phone, if WhatsApp itself logs the device out, or if your phone stays off WhatsApp for a long time. Customer messages then go out from the Storix number, and the card asks you to Scan again so you can connect the number with a fresh QR code. A short reconnecting state fixes itself without you doing anything.
Disconnect your number
Press Disconnect number and confirm. Storix removes only its own linked device from your WhatsApp; the app on your phone and your other linked devices stay as they are. We delete the link data, the record of messages sent from your number and the stored customer replies. Customer messages then go back to the Storix number, and you can connect again any time from the same card.
Keep your number safe
- Do not send bulk promotions or marketing blasts from the linked number. Many messages at the same time are what put a number at risk.
- Keep WhatsApp installed and working on your phone.
- An official connection through Meta is coming later.
Need help?
Press Need help? next to the actions to open a WhatsApp chat with Storix support, with the step you are on already filled in. You can also ask Fahim in the dashboard chat for a person from the team. Reach out if WhatsApp blocks your number, if the code keeps failing after you scan again on a fresh page, or if a message shows as sent but the customer says nothing arrived.
