Create orders yourself: phone orders and walk-in cash sales

How merchants create orders in Storix: enter phone orders with recipient names, share 7-day payment links, and record in-store cash sales with printed receipts.

Operations

As a merchant on Storix, you can create orders yourself directly from the dashboard without waiting for shoppers to complete checkout online. This is essential for managing phone orders, customer messaging inquiries, and walk in sales completed at your physical cash counter.

To get started, go to Orders in your merchant dashboard and click the Create order button at the top of the page. All order sections appear on a single screen where you can add products, set customer contact details, choose payment options, and finalize fulfillment.

Where to find Create order

Navigate to Orders → Orders and click the «Create order» button in the top action bar (or open the /admin/orders/new page directly). The form displays line items, discounts, customer profile, shipping address, and payment settings all on one page without navigating a multi-step wizard.

Three ways to create an order

Depending on how your customer purchases, the dashboard provides three clear order creation workflows:

  1. Standard delivery order: Perfect for phone and delivery orders. Select products, provide customer delivery details and choose an active shipping method. Set the initial payment and shipment status, then click «Create order» to save the order and open the order details screen.
  2. Create order and request payment: When a customer wants to pay online via bank card or mobile wallet, clicking «Create order and request payment» saves the order and creates a secure single-use payment link valid for 7 days. You can copy the link, share it on WhatsApp, or let Storix email it automatically to the buyer if an email address is entered.
  3. Record walk-in cash sale and print receipt: For in-person retail sales at your physical store or counter, select «Walk-in customer / physical store». The order is recorded as paid and completed immediately, deducting stock from the selected warehouse and launching the printed receipt with your browser print dialog.

Essential details for phone orders and walk-in sales

  • Recipient name for phone orders: When recording a phone order without linking an existing registered customer account, enter the caller's name in the guest recipient field. Storix prints this guest name on the shipping label and packing slip instead of leaving the TO line empty.
  • Warehouse street address for walk-in sales: To complete an in-store cash sale, you must select the warehouse that fulfilled the items, and that warehouse must have a street address and city saved under Products → Warehouses. If missing, order creation is rejected with a warehouse_address_incomplete error.
  • Walk-in receipts have no ship-to address: Because walk in sales are handed directly to the shopper over the counter, the resulting receipt omits the delivery Ship-To section and states in-store counter pickup instead.
  • Automatic inventory deduction: Every order created immediately deducts purchased quantities from available inventory for stock-tracked variants, preventing accidental overselling.
  • No draft orders: Storix creates orders directly in the store order ledger without unconfirmed drafts; any needed adjustments or cancellations happen from the order details page.

Checklist before saving

  • Add at least one active product variant with positive quantity and price.
  • For phone orders, verify the recipient phone number, city, and delivery street address.
  • For walk-in sales, confirm the selected warehouse has a street address and city configured.
  • To request payment, keep the initial payment status as unpaid so the payment link button stays active.
