Customer referrals: reward buyers who bring friends
How the referral program works: a welcome discount for the friend, loyalty points for the advocate once the order delivers, a minimum cart and automatic reversals.
Growth
Word of mouth is the only channel that scales without a media budget, and the referral program turns it into something you can actually track. Customer referrals — rewarding the buyers who bring friends — are configured from Marketing ← Customer referrals («برنامج ترشيح صديق»), where you set the two halves of the deal: what the friend gets for trying your store, and what your existing customer earns for bringing them. Everything else — tracking, eligibility, rewards, reversals — runs by itself.
The friend discount is a welcome discount applied to the new customer's first qualifying order. You decide the minimum the cart must reach for the discount to apply, which keeps the offer away from trivial one-item orders. The referrer reward is paid in loyalty points: when the friend's order is delivered, the advocate who shared the code receives their points automatically — delivered, not merely placed, so rewards never pay out for orders that get returned at the door.
The loop, step by step
Your customer grabs their referral link or code from their account and shares it. A friend uses it on their first order; if the cart passes the minimum, the welcome discount applies at checkout. When that order is delivered, the advocate's loyalty account is credited. If something goes wrong — the order is cancelled or voided — the reward is reversed automatically, so your points ledger stays honest without manual cleanups.
Keep it visible
Turn on the referral leaderboard if you want advocates to see top referrers; a little friendly competition moves numbers. And make sure the loyalty program is configured first: referral rewards are paid in loyalty points, so the two screens work as one system. A sensible start is a friend discount worth real money to a first-time buyer and a referrer reward big enough to feel like a treat after two or three successful invites.
