Auto-routing orders to the right shipping method
Rules that assign each order a shipping method by order total, weight, payment type or city, with first-match wins and a tester against real orders. Coming soon.
Operations
Every growing store hits the same wall: heavy orders should not travel on the same method as envelopes, and cash-on-delivery to one city may need a different courier than prepaid to another. Deciding that per order, by hand, does not scale. Storix's Auto-routing screen (fulfillment rules, under Shipping, «الشحن التلقائي») is being built to make the decision automatically, and it is marked coming soon in the pilot sidebar.
A routing rule is a condition and an action. The condition matches the order on one of four axes: an order total range (orders over 2,000 EGP), a weight range (under half a kilogram), a payment type (cash on delivery versus prepaid), or a city. The action assigns the right shipping method for the order to travel on — your Bosta integration, your own delivery, whatever methods you have configured — and can optionally automate shipment creation with a default weight for the matching orders.
First matching rule wins
Rules are evaluated top to bottom and the first match decides the order's routing, which makes the rule list an order of precedence: put your sharpest conditions at the top (the heavy-but-prepaid exception) and your broad defaults at the bottom (everything else goes by method X). A catch-all rule at the end makes behaviour predictable for the orders nobody wrote a rule for.
Test before you trust
The screen includes a rule tester that runs your draft rules against recent real orders and shows which rule each would have matched — so you can watch your precedence do its job on last week's traffic before a single new order depends on it. That feedback loop is the difference between auto-routing and auto-guessing.
Until it opens
Keep routing decisions in your order-processing checklist for now: a note per order type ("heavy → method B") trains the team and becomes your rule list on day one. Watch the sidebar badge for the release.
